The Enon Eagle has submitted a public records request to the elected officials of Mad River Township for documentation surrounding allegations of failure to financially support the needs of the Hustead EMS Department and the Enon/Mad River Township Fire and EMS Department in a timely manner.
Information received by the paper indicates that the township has allowed the departments to have delinquent accounts associated with vital support services to the success of the departments. Indications are that the Enon/Mad River Township department has been without an active purchasing card for over 60 days.
A response to the records request was not received by the close of business on Friday, August 7. The Eagle also submitted several questions to the president of the board of trustees, Joe Catanzaro in writing. The board of trustees did not reply by deadline to any of the questions posed regarding township operations.
A public records request regarding documentation of correspondence with specific corporations was also sent to the Chief of Hustead EMS Heather Kaufman and Chief Tracy Young of the Enon/Mad River Township combined departments.
We will be updating our readers once documentation has been provided by the township trustees and the fiscal officer related to the accounts in question.
